Thanks for the reply. Not sure what you mean about changing icons but I guess that whatever the KDE team is doing with the previews isn't configurable. It is a real drag that something this simple is going to make an entire desktop environment impractical for my purposes, but it isn't too surprising ...

Hi, trying to get plasma to display image thumbnails in the same format as the original image. For example, if the image has a 1:1 aspect ratio plasma is displaying only part of the image in a 2:1 (maybe 16:9?) aspect ratio. OK. By "at one time" do you mean like last week? Because at least this machine I am checking was installed on the 11th with a snapshot of an up to date system. What is the filename/current version of the installer?

Not sure if this is limited to the root filesystem and btrfs but my fstab files on recently installed systems have had "uuid=" with no uuid for the root btrfs filesystem. This causes rebuilding initramfs to error among other things. Simply getting the uuid from blkid and pasting it into fstab fixed ...
