Re: MX-Snapshot Error [Solved]

Your computer detect 4 cores yet, in the .conf you have defined 8. Check /etc/mx-snapshot.conf or ~/.config/MX-Linux/mx-snapshot.conf for "cores" definition, you probably have it set to 8 there.

Changing the number of cores to 4 in ~/.config/MX-Linux/mx-snapshot.conf solved it. Thanks.

Re: MX-Snapshot Error [Solved]

I think that we are going to need your computer’s complete profile before we can proceed, so you need to post the output from the QSI utility. The Quick System Info (QSI) utility is located in MX Tools and its output is automatically formatted for use here in the forum. Run the QSI utility, click ...

That reminds me, I should try Slackware, I never got to try it, I think I tried all the major/original distributions except Slackware.

I already tried "Snailware" :p and asked myself why should anyone use such a distro in 2025 ...

Thanks to everyone who explained this to me. I think I understand now. Now I'm going to install Bleachbit and try not to mess up my system. ;)

How does MX Cleanup compare to Bleachbit? [Solved]

Hello,

I would be interested to know how MX Cleanup compares to Bleachbit.

Does one of the tools have more features than the other?

Does it make any sense to install Bleachbit on MX Linux, or would it cause any conflicts between the two programs?

Re: Responses to Coming changes in impending MX 25 release.

Is there an approximate releasedate for MX 25? Or will it just be released when it's done?

Re: Things that are GREAT about MX Linux

I would describe MX-Linux as a beginner-friendly Debian due to its tools.
I also like the standard access to backports if a more up-to-date version of a program is needed.
MX Linux is also very performant compared to other distributions. I have never seen another operating system that boots up so ...

Re: Responses to Coming changes in impending MX 25 release.

I hope that my media keys on my Lenovo ThinkPad E15 will finally work as they should with the new Debian release. It is only a minor issue in that the microphone indicator light on the keyboard did not signal whether the microphone was on or off, but the basic function to turn the microphone on and ...
