Screen Glitches with Chrome and Zoom

Hi, so I've only noticed this happening with Google Chrome and Zoom, but when I run these apps I get screen glitches: horizontal lines or bars that briefly take up part of the screen and then disappear. They happen all over the app window. Otherwise the apps seem to run fine.
I'm running MX 21.3 ...

Re: Display issues in Panel and Window Manager

Well, I was sure I had already tried a reboot, but after rebooting just now the panel is back to being somewhat transparent. So, that has issue #1 solved.

Still hoping for some help with issues #2.

Thanks.

Display issues in Panel and Window Manager

Hi, I'm looking for some help with a couple of issues.

1) I've set my panel to have a solid background color of black with an opacity of 75%. It shows that this is what is selected in the panel preferences window, but the panel is a solid black 100% opaque. I've tried switching to other colors and ...

Re: Can't get past display manager

Did you realy uninstalled "python3"
Uninstalling python3 - would remove a huge number of important packages including some needed for the login display manager. I guess if you really have done this, your system will no longer work properly.

Well, I suppose the bagoverhead emoji in my original ...

Cannot modify directories/files in mounted NTFS filesystem

Hello,

I am running MX Linux dual-booted with Windows. As such, I have a NTFS filesystem mounted in order to share files between the two OSes. I had things setup so that I could modify and create files in this filesystem while in MX Linux, but now it is not working. Most recently I did upgrade to ...

Re: System fails to boot into DE [Solved]

So glad to hear it worked. Thank you, too for the feedback and for marking the thread :)

P.S. If you pasted the parameters instead of the existing ones (rather than adding) that's normal. You can do it like (or check whether it's so) : quiet splash pci=nomsi,noaer

Ah, I'll try that ...

Re: System fails to boot into DE [Solved]

For now just "Shift+Delete" them (in "root Thunar") , then:

echo 'maxsize 5M' | sudo tee -a /etc/logrotate.d/rsyslog

Also add in "MX Boot Options" - "Kernel Parameters" box (and "Apply"):

pci=nomsi,noaer

Reboot.

If still not, add:

pcie_aspm=off
Reboot.

Sorry for the late reply! I ...

Re: System fails to boot into DE [Solved]

... the culprit is 53 GB in my /var directory. ...anything worth exploring/trying before the reinstall? Just have a look what exactly it is. If it's the log files, probably it'll do that again (sometimes the system produces huge log files like crazy (when normally they're just bytes or KBs ...

Re: System fails to boot into DE [Solved]

Perhaps it makes a difference that I installed using btrfs... so far the assumption has been that I'm using the ext4 default
