Packages needed for iPhone USB Tethering to work under MX 23.3
From the archwiki I have gathered that in order to establish a wired connection with an iPhone via USB Tethering, two packages [libimobiledevice and usbmuxd] from the repo are required.

Re: Downgrading SDDM-modified-init
Thanks dolphin_oracle ..
I've just come to the conclusion that it was in fact the kernel update to 6.1.0-18-amd64 that "aggravated" my SDDM. I actually thought it was the package 'sddm-modified-init' that happened to ship together with kernel version 6.1.0.-18 on the same day (at least for me ...

Downgrading SDDM-modified-init
Hello MX fellas,
quick question: is it possible to downgrade sddm-modified-init:amd64 from 24.02.01 back to 23.10.01?
It should be doable, right? If so how would I go about it to revert back to an earlier version?

Re: System booting to CLI or black screen after update
Did you manage to resolve your freezing issues? Mine just made a comeback, *sigh*
Anyway, I am going all in for an MX Update to hopefully fix that...In the meantime, just can log out. Shutting down pretty much works for my needs.

Re: System booting to CLI or black screen after update
Yessir, I eventually did it, i hope it is benefecial to you as well.
In these cases normally there are two options, either rollback the SDDM-init Package that was updated or ged rid of particular configuration files so that KDE re-generates them and overwrites irregularities while re-building the ...

Re: System booting to CLI or black screen after update
louhy You are actually using SDDM, not LightDM
I have a similiar issue occuring after the last kernel update, which also broke my otherwise flawlessly working SDDM configuration. I hope you don't mind if I piggyback off your thread since this might be related.

Re: Fed up with non-rolling releases...
Why cant you just localise all your critical dotfiles, save and restore them after re-installation? I mean you can pretty much retain most of your personal customization by preserving your home folder during re-installation..On KDE this works pretty well and there is also the new user-installed ...
