Desktop: KDE Plasma

In terminal I created a template for Writer (.odt file), and it is in the Templates folder. However, it does not show up in the 'Create New' context menu.
Oddly, the text file and html templates I created when I used Xfce, do show up in that menu, but they're not in the ...

Why does it bother you so much that I want to use FF Dev Edition?
Seriously, it's like I've committed the great Internet sin or something.
What do you suggest I do as a developer? Does Linux have something equivalent to FF Dev Edition in their repos?

Probably because they think you don't need it.
Any Developer Edition of software is meant to help the developer(s) not the users.

Which begs the question of why would they think I don't need it? If it's something I use, then there's a very good chance I'm a developer.

Checking the properties of the desktop icons for FAQ and MX User Manual, their locations are /(desktop).

I moved them to the Home folder to see what happens, but they didn't work, so I put them back on the desktop.

Is there a way to put them somewhere else?
