I'm now not using Pulseaudio or Chromecast. Using JACK output plugin only. DeadbeeF works great until I connect projector through VGA cable.
If I connect whilst playing DeadbeeF it just stops responding. Rebooting the laptop with VGA cable connection and then starting DeadbeeF causes DeadbeeF to ...

My sound, however, is routed to Chromecast Audio with Pulseaudio-dlna.
Will sound quality suffer too much if the path is JACK -> Pulseaudio -> Chromecast or can JACK communicate with Chromecast Audio directly ...

It seems flac-encoder does not exist as a plugin anymore. Not even for Ubuntu which is Kodi's official supported distro.
I had a look at the visualisations with Ubuntu. They are ok. Not worth pursuing on my MX setup. The Goom one was pretty mesmerising though.

Yes, that's what I tried. There is no flac-encoder.
I have since located and downloaded kodi-visualization-spectrum 1.1.1-1 in Synaptic Package Manager and it indeed came up in Kodi's add-on manager.
I installed it from Kodi's add-on manager, went to activate it and it gives me

I have successfully installed Kodi version 2:18.5+dfsg1-1~mx19+2 using MX Package installer.
In CD ripping options two encoders are available: AAC and WMA.
I would like to use kodi-audioencoder-flac. It does not appear in the Kodi Add-on Repository.
