This is becoming a common issue and believe me, when a machine's BIOS is sold out to Windows, this very thing will happen every time the Windows system is booted. I've tried all sorts of things and none of them worked.

I tried that yesterday without success. It let me select the sound card but it kept reverting back after telling it to apply the changes. I have reinstalled some things and will go back and try that again.

I performed system updates yesterday, installed Kodi and a Kodi build, and now I have lost my sound hardware driver. Reinstalled Pulseaudio and Alsamixer from Synaptic. Presently only have sound through my bluetooth speaker.
