I am certainly not an expert on Linux, take this with some spoons of salt:
It is much faster to reinstall MX than to search and repair some unknown deep-level issues! The User-installed -packages program saves a lot of time.
For me, it seems rather clear that Bluetooth is not very stable in MX for ...

Yep, UMS works fine for me.

Re: Bluetooth audio problems
Hi EmmaX,
Unfortunately, Bluetooth is a weak area in MX. Other distributions may be better in this respect - most likely as those you mention (Ubuntu, Mint) as well as others - myself I have got better results with Manjaro. There might be ways around this, as such in the link from Kermit (but this ...

Re: Connection Failed: br-connection-page-timeout

One PC is a Lenovo Slim Yoga, the other one is a "Shenzhen DOKE product: MP80", they have different BT chips (QSI for the MP80 is attached below).
The following experiments were ...

Connection Failed: br-connection-page-timeout
as the title says, Bluetooth doesn't really want to connect.
When the pc is just re-booted then there might be a short-lived connection, < 30 s. After that connection is lost, new connection attempt results in "Connection Failed: br-connection-page-timeout".

Re: This should work, right?
There are two kinds of Windows/Microsoft passwords: local and "internet" (ie there is a MS account). Local pw are probably easier to reset, a 30 day waiting period for resetting the "internet" pw is then a security feature.

How MX is placed on the USB may also be an issue!
The downloaded .iso file has to be converted and put on eg a USB stick. If you are using Windows for creating "MX on USB" then Rufus is one of the best tools. google, download and start Rufus, easy peasy.
