mxrd,
The popping and cracking always occurs on the launch of a program that uses audio. In Clementine or Audacity, it occurs not only during startup, but when starting a sound file, but it will not repeat until a decay has occurred signaled by a lower intentensity pop/crack (about 7 or 8 seconds ...

Re: Popping and Cracking Audio
Andy,
I've adjusted the volumes on both the amplifier and PulseAudio Volume Control all over the place and it did not affect the popping and cracking. The most significant thing I've just noticed is that I have to set each application in MX-19 to use the USB audio adapter, but in MX-21 it is ...

I thought that this might fix the issue, but it didn't.

Popping and Cracking Audio
Having installed MX-21 on a spare (removable) SSD, I'm getting a lot of popping and cracking audio whenever I start a program that uses audio. It's usually a loud crack/pop followed by a lower level one. One exception is Clementine which does not produce a loud crack/pop on startup, but does so when ...

Re: Petition to Replace Gwenview with Nomacs as Default for Both MX19 and MX21
Thanks, I do see it in the Stable Repo. I'm not sure what I did, but it appeared in the Synaptic Package Manager prior to install. I don't generally use the shortcut keys, except Crtl-Z and K.

Re: Petition to Replace Gwenview with Nomacs as Default for Both MX19 and MX21
Can anyone suggest a simple way for me to use nomacs on MX-21 as it has a number of image enhancement features that I really need. I'm not that familiar with compiling source code.

Re: [SOLVED] problem with wifi driver
I cleaned up some files and tried the following sequence, from information from this thread and elsewhere, and this worked.
sudo modprobe -r rtw88_8723de
echo "blacklist rtw88_8723de" | sudo tee -a /etc/modprobe.d/blacklist-rtw88_8723de.conf
git clone https://github.com/smlinux/rtl8723de.git -b ...

Re: [SOLVED] problem with wifi driver
I have the same problem on a Pavilion 15t laptop. I had MX Linux 19.1 installed and the Realtek driver was working from a git build. For some reason the OS glitched and I re-installed with 19.3 AHS which had the Realtek rtl8723de included. I followed the advice here, but when I use the inxi -n ...

Re: How to install Avidemux in 15 steps. [Solved]
Yes, but I was reluctant to use the appimage format. However, your response initiated further research into it's use and so I decided to take the plunge. Having downloaded it and made it executable (using https://itsfoss.com/use-appimage-linux/) it works fine. So thanks for the nudge!

Re: How to install Avidemux in 15 steps. [Solved]
The install procedure does not work for MX-19, as it is not in the repositories...
Anyone have a clue as to when AVIDemux will be available for this version?
It's too clunky in Virtualbox/XP
