CB et all - Wow - once again, saved by the experts - many thanks - speed has gone from 20 mbs to 100 mbs - is there a way to avoid this situation with future installs ?

ok - so how do I get that driver installed ?

wondering if deleting the other realtek rtl drivers in synaptic would help

I notice in QSI it says - as above - USB driver: N/A - not sure if the OS is seeing the driver

rtl8821au-dkms is already the newest version (5.12.5.2+git20221018-1~mx21).
got this in terminal during reinstall of driver

went into the bios and hid the wifi card - didn't help

I've only used synaptic standard repos
