Re: resetting monitors more effectively [Solved]
Hope this helps anyone else who’s been pulling their hair out over this. Cheers!
Oh, this is lovely. Thank you.
I had a similarly hair-reducing experience with our TV that I also drive from an ancient laptop with AVL on it. With actual TV one doesn't pick up things like this without a test ...

CharlesV's recipe for getting rid of that swap file is a good idea, including the backup!

Re: flatpaks for default applications
When I get back to office and start working on this I will thieve this to create a betterbird.desktop in /usr/share/xfce4/helpers. If the forum wishes, once I get it working I can post the final results in this thread, perhaps write a tutorial?
That would be very useful, thank you.

If you're on Android, have a look at GadgetBridge . It's open source and it cannot send any data anywhere, as it doesn't have (nor does it ask for) network permission.
Of course you'd need to check for compatibility. You also need to understand that it needs an enormous number of permissions in ...

Re: flatpaks for default applications
Looks like the "mail client" part of post #14 was swallowed up by the following one.
<I digress>
According to statistics, the market share of web browsers used by 2025 is:
Chrome 63.68%, Safari 22.07%, Edge 5.71%, Samsung Internet 3.36%, Firefox 2.1%, and Others 3.08%.

j2mcgreg's point is valid, so check the drive's status anyway, even though your immediate problem is that it is full.
This should help to get information. All of this requires you to boot off a live USB, so that you can mount your drive's root to, say, "/media/mydrive" and then check things out ...

Re: Embedded Systems Development
Thanks for the clarification. I haven't looked at embedded systems for many years.
I've never looked at Yocto before, but saw the following at https://docs.yoctoproject.org/ref-manual/system-requirements.html#supported-linux-distributions:
Currently, the 5.2.999 release (“Walnascar”) of the ...
