Re: "Updated" Senpai Respin only LXDE/Openbox MX 23.6 for 32 and 64 bits

I just installed your respin this week on an old Chromebook with a 16 GB HD, 2 GB RAM, and an Intel Celeron N2840 CPU. It made for a "snappy" and usable machine.

Thank You! Nicely done.

Re: WineHQ-Stable-5 Installation Issue

Don't install wine-stable-amd64_5.0.0_buster_amd64.deb. You only need to install libfaudio0_20.01-0_buster_amd64.deb prior to installing winehq-stable from that repository.

I just spent several hours installing winehq-stable from that repository. I found no advantage in doing so. I switched back ...

Re: Openjre-8 update causing font blurring with MoneyDance

I want to update the thread with my latest finding. I took the hold off openjdk-8-jre and upgraded to openjdk-8-jre/oldstable,now 8u242-b08-1~deb9u1. (I'm still running 18.3). The fonts are now displaying just fine. So recent upgrades have solved this problem. Thanks guys!

Re: Openjre-8 update causing font blurring with MoneyDance

No, the only programs I run under Wine are some ham radio logging programs that don't have a comparable linux counterpart.

Have you tried any of the wine font smoothing scripts that are out there? A one-time run (of the smoothing script) after a wine prefix install has always worked for me.

Re: Openjre-8 update causing font blurring with MoneyDance

Upate:

I downloaded a trial version of the latest MoneyDance. It runs better under the latest openjre-8 version, but it still has many "blurred" fonts. The font for the check register looks OK with the newest version so it would be usable. But, for now, I'm going to place the previous openjre-8 ...

Re: Openjre-8 update causing font blurring with MoneyDance

Try launching it from the command line with
java -Dawt.useSystemAAFontSettings=on -jar nameofjarfile.jar
If this makes it look OK you can add it to the command line in its Whisker menu item.

I couldn't implement your suggestion. MoneyDance is initiated with a script file that checks java ...

Openjre-8 update causing font blurring with MoneyDance

Yesterday's upgrade of openjre-8 resulted in bad font "blur" in my MoneyDance finance program. I've used MoneyDance for years without problem until now. The upgrade resulted in this problem on both of my machines (both AMD64 with Intel Mobile 945GM/GMS 943/940GML Express Integrated Graphics ...

Re: Package request for Openbox Menu Generator

Hey Mike, it worked fine for me! The caveat being that I "upgraded" over Head_on_a_Stick's older deb. I don't have a machine without the old install with which to test an initial install. I don't recall all the steps required to get the old install going, but IIRC I had to go fishing for a package ...

OK, I've updated the package to v0.85 and added Debian stretch, buster & sid versions:
