impossible to drag objects using touchpad

I recently bought an Acer Nitro 5 laptop, and unfortunately, it is impossible to drag objects using the touchpad—it may be mechanically damaged. It can only select a word or sentence by clicking, paste from the clipboard, and scroll through text. Is it possible to configure hotkeys for dragging objects in the Xfce environment?

You know where you can see all the programs? That is the menu button. And no, only a bit of inxi is not enough.
IF you want that, post
In code tags, NOT as plain text.

In the MX Menu, open Mouse and Touchpad
On the Devices tab
- select your touchpad
On the Behavior tab make sure that
- Drag and Drop Threshold is set to something like 8 or 10
- Distance is set to around 5

Thank you for advice but it didn't help me.

If you open any app, say Featherpad, put the cursor over the window title bar, and then click and and hold down on the window title bar, does the cursor turn into a hand?
( this takes approx 1 second on mine, might take 2 on yours.)
If it does, then can you drag then?
Edit: for better clarification.

After click and hold down on the Featherpad window title bar nothing happened, I still can't drag (cursor don't turn into a hand).

Hmm... try creating a new user, then log in as that user and see if this persists.
If the new user is able to drag windows around, (ctrl+click hold and drag on a window title bar) then the issue is in your xfce configuration. Possibly something like:
- ~/.cache/xsessions
- a key map

I created a new user, then log in as you mentioned but unfortunately still not possible drag windows around. (even with CTRL+click hold). Maybe something wrong with driver for touchpad? I tried both kernel versions: Liquorix and

Your firmware is quite old ( 2023 in many cases) and while your machine *should* be covered in all that, many times there are updates that help smooth out wrinkles in some machines.
I would suggest doing a timeshift on your machine (so you can restore if needed.) and then I would add the AHS repo to get later firmware. (It is not THE latest, but it is very close.) You can use MX Repo Manager, go to the Individual Sources tab, then down the list on the left until you get to mx.list. then on the right, check the last one in the mx List ( and in ahs )
Apply, then close. and then do a sudo apt update. You should see a bunch of things added to the list to update, and go ahead and update those things.
Two other things to try here:
1) Plug in a mouse and see if you get drag and drop using that, and
2) Create a liveUSB of mx23.6 (or the flavor your currently running ) and then boot with that see if you have rag and Drop there.

I've noticed that there's some NEW experimental options in mouse and touchpad Now that get enabled by default. They've given me similar trouble to yours on old thinkpads until I spotted and unticked them. A couple of times they enabled themselves after I'd disabled them.
