Re: Update from 13.07 broke Wayland

lets hope that its the wayland utils update that broke it and not the mesa update.

let's back off the wayland updates. (tested on my KDE live session, and I still had a wayland session).

Code: Select all

sudo apt install libwayland-cursor0/stable libwayland-egl1/stable libwayland-server0/stable
http://www.youtube.com/runwiththedolphin
lenovo ThinkPad X1 Extreme Gen 4 - MX-23
FYI: mx "test" repo is not the same thing as debian testing repo.

Ok that's good news. maybe we can take those out of the repo. for now you can disable ahs repo, or just mark those packages to be held.

Code: Select all

sudo apt-mark hold libwayland-cursor0 libwayland-egl1 libwayland-server0
http://www.youtube.com/runwiththedolphin
lenovo ThinkPad X1 Extreme Gen 4 - MX-23

Downgrading these packages gave back the Wayland session for me too. Thanks.

Confirmed broke on my thinkpad, and confirmed downgrading fixed it.

Hope its not too hard to figure out what is causing the problem.

Probably KDE in Bookworm still expects the older Wayland.
MXPI = MX Package Installer
QSI = Quick System Info from menu
The MX Test repository is mostly backports; not the same as Debian testing
