Building a Dark theme for MX Linux Forum

Hi,
I know this topics has already been cover see :
viewtopic.php?t=83068
In my point of view I rather prefer a Bulletin Board style (phpBB, flaskBB etc..) forum than prettier but less effective (missing a ton of important features) forum (like disc**rse etc.. )
I'm using my self
Dark Reader that is an plugin for browsers that change the CSS and therefor can give a simulate dark theme, I say simulate, because it will never be as good as a handmade one !

I barely see the section titles..
@Eadwine Rose , said they do not plan to create one, and I respect that, it take already time to handle a forum and develop MX linux.
So here my proposal, I'm willing to create a repository to create (with the help of who want) the phpBB dark theme for MX Linux forum.
Once is done, the moderators will have "just" to include it in their phpBB forum.
@moderators, is this will be ok for you ?
Cheers.
Moderator: image changed to link, please read the forum rules on image sizes.

You
could try to blackmail the mods. Or you could edit the Dark Reader settings for the forum and choose literally any other theme generation mode: Filter, Filter+, or Static. Sounds a lot easier than founding a new phpBB theme and rolling the dice it will be accepted.

@DukeComposed Thanks I've set it to Filter+ it's already better... not like a native will be, but it does the trick.
But I'm still incline to make a dark theme is the moderators are open to it.

I am not.

One thing I hate in general about today's computing is dark themes, so it's a hard no from me.

We have already made it very clear we will not be implementing a dark theme, no need to ask or vote for it.
As per this topic, for one:

Wouldn't a dark theme be a user choice? If you don't like it, don't use it. At least you would have the option.
I don't understand all the negativity.....

I wouldn't mind a dark theme personally, and I am thankful that now computing with dark themes has significantly improved.
That said, I suspect the negativity comes from the fact that web apps such as phpBB are a complete pain in the behind, and seemingly simple requests are unbearably complicated to implement. Then again I haven't admin'd a phpBB forum for well over a decade now.
Anything that explicitly has to be installed also needs support, and there simply isn't enough manpower for that. Software needs to get updated, web apps are no exception, which means themes need to be maintained to ensure compatibility. Great, OP proposes to make a dark theme, but is the OP willing to keep up with maintenance or will OP lose interest and abandon it and expect the MX forum admins to pick up the pieces?
If you are on Firefox there's Dark Background and Light Text extension. I am in fact using it on this forum as I speak and setting it to "Default" gives very good results, and so far hasn't caused any trouble. I have tried other extensions but they hog up resources. A dark theme would be nice of course, but failing that, I now have an extension I can apply to every other site too, not just sites which have dark mode functionality.

We chose a style that is compatible with both the general forum software, phpbb, and the extensions we have added.
We also want to keep extensions to a minimum as phpBB updates may very well break them.
As has been suggested before, many browsers have extensions that will implement a dark theme.

@SpongeBOB Take a look at Midnight Lizard. It is much more customizable than Dark Reader.

Thank you so much for recommending this extension! I have a hard time seeing when the default theme for a site is light. It's hard or me to read the text. I'm usually having to increase the size of the text just so I can see it. Dark themes enable me to see much more clearly! I wear glasses and still have a hard time seeing! I think my eyes are getting worse every year. I just installed that extension and it's much better for me! Thanks again!
