I have downloaded latest iso and would like to install mx on my x1 caron 8gen. When running the live image, I am not able to connect to my wifi. I have looked arount and I believe it must be the network manager I need to work with? It seems to have drivers and wifi enaled, but I am not able to localize any wifi?
what am I doing wrong?

Please post your QSI. ( MX Menu, Quick System Info, Copy for Forum, Paste here )
Save to a stick if you need too and then paste here

According to the manual for your laptop, found here:
https://download.lenovo.com/pccbbs/mobi ... _ug_en.pdf
F8 is the toggle key for WiFi. Press it to see if WiFi activates as it's not uncommon for devices that are enabled by default in Widows to be initially disabled in Linux.

Thank you for taking the trouble, I will try that.
I should notice that I run fedora and have in the past run bookworm with gnome on it with no wifi issues. So I was a bit puzzled.

Again, your QSI will help a lot. It does not contain personal information.
