Re: Wine instalation problems
We need your computer’s complete profile before we can proceed, so you need to post the output from the QSI utility. The Quick System Info (QSI) utility is located in MX Tools and its output is automatically formatted for use here in the forum. Run the QSI utility, click “Copy for Forum” at the bottom and then just paste it here in your thread.

Re: Wine instalation problems
You have added Debian Trixie based repositories onto a Debian Bookworm based system. I'm guessing you have found some Wine installation directions online and followed them, and the directions were for Trixie. While I cannot say categorically that mixing packages is absolutely, in all imaginable cases, a bad thing (it is usually presented so, and for a very good reason, even though there are some exceptions - if the advanced user knows for certain everything the package contains, and how it will interact with the current installation - where there will be no adverse effects in the case of some specific package) ... it almost certainly is what is causing the trouble here. ("Almost" being a slight understatement :))
Re: Wine instalation problems
I installed Wine directly from their website. Installation was a breeze as long as you follow their steps for the particular Debian version, e.g. Debian 11 bullseye, Debian 12 bookworm or Debian Testing ( Trixie ). I would recommend staying with what Debian version MX-Linux is currently using. Here is the link:
https://gitlab.winehq.org/wine/wine/-/w ... ian-Ubuntu
Edit: That is, if you choose to go this route.

Re: Wine instalation problems
Your QSI shows this:
You are running MX-23.6 which uses bookworm repositories. You should never have trixie repositories active on that install.
Code: Select all
Active apt repos in: /etc/apt/sources.list.d/winehq-bookworm.sources
1: deb [arch=amd64 i386] https://dl.winehq.org/wine-builds/debian bookworm main
