In praise of MX Linux

This is my first post to the forum. I registered specifically to sing praises of MX Linux.

Since Windows 10 is going out of support, I wanted to replace it with Linux. I tried several usual flavors and couple of unusual ones, but none of them had all the features working out of box. Then I read about MX Linux on some website when Bookworm with Xfce was released. I decided to give it a try and I have been hooked. This is one flavor where everything just works, mostly out of the box. I have done lot of work over last couple of months, installing MX Linux on three computers and antiX on a VM and installing a number of complex programs and writing bunch of shell scripts. Everything worked, some with little effort, some with more effort, but everything worked and keeps working.

So, a BIG THANK YOU to MX Linux developers...!!! Very thoughtfully designed.

We are glad you like it and you probably didn't even scratch the surface.

Also one of the biggest benefit is this forum and the fellow users who are here to help, so welcome and enjoy.

MX Linux is unique in every respect. In the last couple of months, having some time free, I tried more than a dozen distros on my spare machine. Not one of them lasted more than a day due to this or that quirk/shortcoming/bug/etc. I'm talking about "top" distros, and not obscure ones.

I'm amazed that MX Linux checks absolutely all the boxes.

I started with MX Linux in maybe 2018 and I have no doubt that this is a magically amazing distro that all other distros should learn from.

Many, many thanks to the maintainers, the developers, the designers, and the forum mods and users.

:welcome:

Similar feedback...started tinkering with MX in 2019, and went all-in on Jan. 15, 2020, after EOL for Win7.

Never looked back since, not even once!

So, Yeah: :linuxlove:

Still keep a separate drive with Win7, configured with no internet connection, strictly for certain apps.

Enjoy
