Windows - nervous user?

#1 Post by NickStone »

In order to play certain games I have Windows 10 installed alongside MX. I won't say I'm nervous when using Windows but I'm always on Edge.

Droll, very droll.
HP 15; ryzen 3 5300U APU; 500 Gb SSD; 8GB ram
HP 17; ryzen 3 3200; 500 GB SSD; 12 GB ram
Idea Center 3; 12 gen i5; 256 GB ssd;

In Linux, newer isn't always better. The best solution is the one that works.

Many windows users genuinely swallow it, but they selling your... and ah, can not say here...

There is huge gap between the general people and geeks.)

I haven't bought a Windows game since 2003. The day I switch to Linux. I only used at the time Linux games compatible with Linux. Which any game made for Linux works in Linux. I build my gaming library just doing that. But I still had all these old Windows games I bought from 1995-2003. Itchy to play them. I finally got the guts to see how Wine work. Since I didn't know what I was doing. It actually took me 3 days to get my first Windows game attempt to work in Linux. That game was...Carmageddon II: Carpocalypse Now (1998). After I figure out how to launch it, get the sound working and even get the beginning to start with the movie introduction. I got it working 100% in Linux. Now see how my second attempt will do with my next game of choice.....Re-Volt(1999). Got it going 100% after messing around for 3 hours. So I shorten the time to get it going. Funny Re-Volt now has a Linux version, which is cool. So I got better using wine. Took me 7 years to get my complete old Windows games to work in the era of 1995-2003 in Linux, as I had to wait for wine to improve it's self. I purchase Linux games only, since the switch in 2003. Never boot up Windows ever again. Windows XP was the last version of Windows I ever touched. I'm not afraid of Windows, I actually hate Windows to it's rotten core. At least I can play my whole library of old Windows game. I also download DOSbox and every DOS Windows games I ever tried out with DOSbox always worked. So I have those Windows games working in Linux as well.

Indeed. A quite obvious pun.

MXPI = MX Package Installer
QSI = Quick System Info from menu
The MX Test repository is mostly backports; not the same as Debian testing
