emerald work good, but i think mxlinux has problem with compiz,gtk- window decorator, but mint has integrated with the gtk-window decoratorasqwerth wrote: Mon Mar 24, 2025 12:14 pm I don't know about now, but in the past, if you dug into the folder for xfce's greybird gtk theme [/usr/share/themes/greybird], you would find that an emerald (window decoration) theme that matched greybird's xfwm4 theme was provided by default by the greybird devs.
It is certainly possible for Mint devs to have created an emerald theme that matched the xfwm4 theme for Mint's default theme, though I don't know if that is the case.
It is definitely not a xfwm4 theme. Once compiz is activated as the window manager, you cannot activate the XFCE settings for window manager, including the theming of the same.
Also, under the fusion-icon options for compiz, you used to be able to choose either emerald or a gtk-based option as the window decorator. But there were very few theme choices for that gtk-based thing, IIRC. I recall the only default was some ugly blue thing. Long ago Manjaro created a theme to go with that gtk choice, but they have long stopped all support for compiz.
Again, Mint devs might have continued to maintain this gtk decoration option, I have no idea.
I am guessing it's more likely to be an emerald theme, in my opinion.
[ADDED] it appears that the emerald theme is still provided with greybird gtk theme!

ADDED #2: you could search theming sites for emerald themes that have window buttons you like. There are emerald themes that mimic numix xfwm4 theme. MX's comfort blue GTK theme is based on numix.
There is also an emerald theme called Emerald Edge that is flat and will fit the mx comfort aesthetic.
