Difference between MX Linux KDE and XFCE (ahs) .iso

So, with the XFCE version you get a newer kernel and newer GPU drivers (ddm-mx takes care of that). I am curious about what newer "firmware" means and after an update is it all just the same (except the kernel, it gets updates for 6.1).
