For longtime GIMP users much has changed and some legacy things have been removed, I personally went back to 2.10 almost immediately.. Obviously at some point updating will be inevitable and I'll have to get my brain wrapped around the changes. I'd be interested in what other GIMPers think?

I'd say get that deb and milk 2.10 for as long as you can *chuckle*

Don't know how 'great' my mind is anymore but as much as I love Linux it is often at odds with my pragmatic farmer "if it ain't broke don't fix it" side... In Linux if it ain't broke... add new features | update it 'just because' | completely change it from the ground up | fork it

GIMP 3.x offers a ton of huge new stuff over 2.10.x GIMP in general has been sitting around with only minor improvements made for a very long time until whenever GIMP 3.0 stable comes out. Very likely this year. That said, it's understandable people want to stick with 2.10.x for now until 3.0 finally hits stable.

I don't want a ton of huge new stuff. Usually that means I cannot find the stuff I need because it got moved, or, even worse, REmoved.
