Be Gratful for what you have ...

I see a lot of posts questioning this, or wanting that as default, or question about how something is done...
But the reality is that if you pick ANY distro... ( LET ME REPEAT THAT!! ) ... Pick ANY distro and you will find things that "could be different" or " that you may want to have differnt" ...
I am just going to say... maybe take a minute to BE grateful for what MX is! Think about the people that dedicate themselves to making MX an *awesome* distro!!!
AND... they provide the ability for you TO make it what you want, if you wish to change it. But make no mistake... they work VERY FREAK'N HARD to build ... no thats not correct ... CRAFT one of the most amazing distro's out there.
SO.. next time you decide you want to grump about how, or why or what .. consider what your SAYING there.
Hats off to ALL that develop ***** where we live ***** MX Linux !!

I think a lot of people forget that there are so many dozens and hundreds of different Linux distributions because (a) the license permits it and (b) someone, somewhere said "Nothing out there does things exactly the way I think they should be" and took some initiative.
We are, each of us, free to roll up our sleeves and build a new Linux distro and customize it however we want. It is far easier to wag a finger at the ones actually doing the work and suggesting they make a different choice. We have a dozen different respins to suit these complaints: systemd-only MX, sysvinit-only MX, MX with just about every major desktop environment you can name, MX with no DE all all.
MX Linux even provides the tools you need to customize the OS and easily -- or not so easily[0] -- generate your own respin, and I'm grateful there are plenty of people in this community who understand and follow the principal maxim of open source software: "Is there something you are looking for and it's not available? Then build it."
There will always be people who want things to be different. Perhaps its best to ignore all the ones whose hands are clean and their cuff links still firmly in place. The MX community still has plenty of doers, folks who took the initiative, and they are what make both this OS worth using and this forum worth visiting.
[0] On one end you can make an MX respin for your company in an afternoon: a custom wallpaper with the corporate logo on the desktop and that bespoke accounting program built into it that the finance department insists on having. Or on the other end of the scale you can spend years of your free time making and maintaining a custom audio- and video-editing suite to rival Ubuntu Studio. You've got options.

I agree with CharlesV.
Default MX functions and options carefully selected because by whole worldwide usage. ordinary and common choice.
"This application more cool than default!" I saw it often too, but MX default is not for specific person, for whole users.
In other words, default choice is maybe little bored. if you want to use "more exciting MX", I recommends MX Respins.
MX's base system design is looks perfect for me, any Respins can gave that benefit.

CharlesV is right:

kudo to the devs
... but not only the developers make mx amazing - no, also the moderators and people who write here every day and spend their time to help others deserve our respect and gratitude.
So: a big hand to all supporters too!

Oh, I am grateful. And I show that gratitude by cheerleading for MX (and Antix) in other comment sections and forums every chance I get. lol We must go out and spread the good word. By the way, I constantly hear Linux Mint getting recommended, much to my chagrin. That or Ubuntu. Mint I could perhaps see even though I have a problem with it, but I have no idea why Ubuntu continues to be used.

Well, I started with MX when NO other distro was able to run my hardware.
So MX IS outstanding and amazing!

Exactly.
Choices have to be made. The additional cool feature I might be looking for only comes in a package with things I want differently. Well, I then have to choose.
MX for me has great combination of features and underlying principles. This is definitely a well-considered and very practical distro.
Please continue.
Thank you!

Can you cheerlead for antiX by spelling it correctly as well?

Charles and all the moderators/devs/helpers with thousands of posts: we're "gratful" ! Just remember it's normal for a support forum to get mostly posts from users with questions, issues, sometimes gripes. And it might get worse come the end of support for windows 10 and the influx of impatient newbies willing to give a popular linux distribution a shot. That does not mean there are'nt many, many other silent happy users. Thanks for your dedication.
