No wireless or Touchpad after Mx SNAP clone to new ACER Aspire

Hello,
Have a Acer Swift using Mx Linux 21.3 for a few years and did have a problem with the Touchpad and fixed it, but forget how I did it.
I just buy a new Acer Aspire with win11 and immediately did a SNAP clone from my Swift onto new Aspire, wiping out windows altogether. When complete, it did give me a boot problem (System Boot Security) that gave me a black screen, but after disabling "Secure Boot" in BIOS it boots ok now.
Everything else went really smooth and I now have a full copy of my old box on my new one... except for 2 problems I am aware of...
1. No WIFI shows up at all, so I insert an 25 year old wifi usb dongle and it works fine, albeit it slow speed, but usable.
2. No Touchpad at all so I plug in usb mouse.
It seems my new Acer laptop does not see the WiFi card at all, and the Touchpad does not show up in the dropdown menu of "Mouse and Touchpad" I also tried Mx 21.3 live usb and still no good. Then tried 123.2 KDE and 121.2 Mate, and both were all was good, but I dont want it. So it seems its a MX linux problem only.
Here is my info...

did you disable fast boot along the way? Should be able in the BIOS.

I believe it is your kernel. Try installing one of the 6.xxx series, preferably the latest Liquorix one. Good luck.

@strikeymate

With a machine that new, you should be using the AHS (Advanced Hardware Systems) version of MX 23.4 which is aimed at the newest machines.

edited to add: Please edit the topics title as I'm sure you meant Snapshot instead of SNAP. SNAP is an Ubuntu invention akin to flatpacks and appimages and cannot be used in the way your tile suggests.

I'm pretty sure that we support Alder Lake hardware with MX 21 AHS, but yes, they'll need to add AHS, upgrade the kernel and then a full-upgrade to AHS packages. That's what AHS is for.

Their graphics is also llvmpipe for Intel, so not good. Those upgrades should fix that; I bet right now the brightness controls probably aren't working, either.

Hi there
i have same issue with an Acer Aspire 3
has a mediatek wifi board and therefore no wifi

tried the mx ahs version, no luck

also tried cachy os with 6.12 kernel, still no luck.

I would still like to install mx as I am old user of antix and mx, on my laptop I am still on mx16 and works fine...

any idea when there would be a fix for this, or where I should post a question?

Please do not tack onto other people's topic, start your own with QSI included, thank you.

You have a different system with likely still different software and different configs.

Similar. Not same.

Indeed, the OP has Intel wi-fi, and mihail has Mediatek wi-fi, so they are not the same. I know there's at least one of those Mediatek chipsets that aren't yet supported in Linux, but start a new thread, please.
