i installed and uninstalled thorium browser quite awhile ago. Yesterday, I saw Thorium show up on upgrades. Can't seem to find it. Not sure what is happening, would like to get rid of it

You can search for that in "Synaptic" from menu.

Your QSI shows that the repo is still active which is why you got that update. Use Repo Manager --> individual Sources tab to disable it. If you can find Thorium in Synaptic and it shows that it is installed, right click on it, and mark it for complete removal.

OP says they want to get rid of it. It should not show up as an upgrade it it's been removed, too.

It depends on how the application was removed. OP hasn't stated how the package was installed or uninstalled. I have known situations where a user "uninstalled" an application by dragging the Desktop shortcut to the trash. I think that may work on macOS, but I suspect that the package is still present on the system. The output of "dpkg -l | grep -i thorium" would be useful here.

Right ... but the link still be useful for a future install up to date (and for a choice of the adapted version: sse3, or, sse4, or avx, or avx2 ... or appimage for Thorium - based from Chromium) .

yet not related to the intention. He wants to know why the package came up during an update run despite he'd uninstalled it.

So, in addition to DukeComposed's suggestion, OP should try

That should deliver the current installation status.

Synaptic, MXPI, or "apt policy thorium" in a terminal would show if it's still installed, which it may very well be.

Since it's not installed (post #10) you can remove the list file. Open a terminal and type.

Then update you sources.
