Recently bought the above machine - minus HDD - for £50 from ebay - and It's in great nick.
MX 23.4 runs fine on it except that it can't detect the sound chip in system info. Sound works fine through a usb dongle but not through built in speakers nor the stereo socket. Is there a suitable driver/daemon available?
It has an Intel i5 cpu on a Skylake chipset.

You've been here long enough to know the drill. QSI please.
HP 15; ryzen 3 5300U APU; 500 Gb SSD; 8GB ram
HP 17; ryzen 3 3200; 500 GB SSD; 12 GB ram
Idea Center 3; 12 gen i5; 256 GB ssd;
In Linux, newer isn't always better. The best solution is the one that works.
