3. Testing out some new addon hardware items added yesterday so to compare new and old Gimps.
Thanks in advance for any ideas and/or tips.

They can't coexist as native packages, but you could try one of them as an AppImage, perhaps.

Thanks for the reply Stevo looked up DDG and then the sites that have Gimp 3 Appimages they are not complete other-ones have - it's too muddled up ATM wait awhile until things settle down
Soo Remove GIMP 2.10.38 ( inc config and all files ? ) and then install from Test Repo Gimp 3 is the only way umm after dinner if it goes downhill after days of using G3 can always re-install GIMP 2.10.38,
Am I inquisitive enough to have some fun with this umm not sure about this ?

Maybe install Gimp 3 from the test repo as another user, so any of its settings don't end up in your home folder. After trying it, uninstall gimp 3 and reinstall gimp 2.10.38 from our main repo.

Brilliant I usually forget about the other user.

Last Q if G 3 works with other user and works well (OK maybe a few crashes) then install into my own home , any reason not to keep it ?
