Print Setting not opening in Settings Manager or Terminal...

Hello and thanks in advance for anyone's help.

I have been having an issue with getting my printer to interact with my new Lenovo laptop. I may have solved that issue, but in doing so, I believe that I somehow removed something that makes the Print Settings run.
In trying to get my printer to work via wifi, I gave it a shot and did a remove --purge on my cups, and I believe that removed some components that run the Print Settings, so I can verify that my printer is there and adjust printer settings. I click on the Print Settings in the Settings Manager and it does nothing.
New computer's giving me a go with my sanity, after learning so much with my 14 year old computer, having a new laptop with new hardware, etc is a whole new deal...but I'm learning. I hope so, because I have my Wife's that is the same exact laptop to setup as well.

Anyway, anyone that can help me in likely reinstalling to components I need to get back on track would be greatly appreciated.

Launch Synaptic --> search for CUPS --> right click on it (even if it shows that it's installed) and choose mark for re-installation and the proceed to reinstall it.

I'd try a shutdown / cold restart as some of your old config may be still retained in memory and causing a conflict.

Hi .. just a quick thought ..what printer have you .. ? you do not tell us .. any I have a lenovo laptop .. thinkpad .. I used the MX flatpack system in tools to find printing and connect by Wifi real easy to a HP 6000 series envy printer ..no problem.. works a treat as it should ... but just saying

as a reference, here is a list of installed 'print' pieces on a stock MX23. (Master-pdf-editor is the only thing I believe has been added at this time.)

This is all in MS Package Installer, and if that restart doesnt resolve, I personally would use package installer and reinstall all of these.

In case you used apt or did you use apt-get, ar something else?
Why would one purge such a fundamental printer framework like cups.
Just reinstalling cups would not bring back which may have been also removed
due to dependency relationship.
But maybe post the full story,
Right-click on the "MX Updater" try icon and select "History".
On the shown list right-click and "Select All", copy and code-block paste here.
At least this may give an indication what's missing, if anything is missing.

Yeah, I got a little overzealous using apt.
I got my Print Settings back thanks to CharlesV.
Just reinstalled everything on the list he gave me that I already had installed, and installed what was not on the list, which was about five apps. Now the Print Settings are are running again and good.
Now, I just have to figure out why I cannot get the Canon PIXMA MG6120 printer to connect more than just a flash on the printer through wifi, but will not stay connected to print?
Everything looks good and my printer shows on http://localhost:631/ and on lpstat, but cannot get more than a two second connect on the printer through wifi before it drops.
I tried unplugging and re-powering both the internet modem and the printer, re-installing printer drivers, deleting the printer I set up and recreate new printers, and still notta.
Has me stumped that it wants to work, but can't get the kick to stay connected to print.
I'm about ready to just chuck this 14 year old printer out the window and buy a new one, as it continually causes me issue every time I upgrade my system or distro.
Anyway, I know this kinda makes this a new topic, but any ideas?
