Can I make font look better like MacOS? if not then Windows?

#1 Post by nullpointer »

Hi everyone, I hope and pray everyone is doing well!

So, my question is, is there any way I can make my display font look better and smoother?
If possible, I want to make it like MAC's font, or if not possible, can I at least make it look like Windows?

Please share your knowledge, thank you.

Use MX Package Installer (MXPI) --> Enabled Repos tab to install the Microsoft TrueType fonts using this package:

Code: Select all

ttf-mscorefonts-installer
HP 15; ryzen 3 5300U APU; 500 Gb SSD; 8GB ram
HP 17; ryzen 3 3200; 500 GB SSD; 12 GB ram
Idea Center 3; 12 gen i5; 256 GB ssd;

In Linux, newer isn't always better. The best solution is the one that works.

Without knowing any obvious display problems you might be encountering, the two places you should start are reading this thread on stem darkening and this post on fixing blurriness on some resolutions.

I also find that a good typeface works wonders. On Windows that means using a Unicode-enabled TTF version of the old system font called TerminalVector. There are also dozens of other options on, for example, Nerd Fonts that can give you a cleaner, more modern look over some of the builtin typefaces you may be using.

Maybe "dpkg-reconfigure fontconfig-config" is what you are looking for.

Just open the teminal and type in ...

Code: Select all

sudo dpkg-reconfigure fontconfig-config
... there you can change the configuration of the font looking.

And also MX-Linux-> settings-> appearence-> tab fonts.
