Issues with HDMI resolution and sound

Hi! Just installed MX Linux on ASUS laptop. Everything else seems great, but:

1) MX Linux doesn't recognize HDMI sound output at all, for some reason it's not available in Mixer at all. HDMI sound works in Chrome OS Flex.
2) HDMI display resolution is resetted to 1920x1080 instead of the wanted 1366x768. This happens every time I unplug and plug HDMI back. And every time it asks also if I want to mirror the screen etc. Is there a way to make ext. display settings default?

I appreciate help on these, thank you.

2) After doing the setting according to your liking, open the "Advanced" tab (in "Display") and create a profile (kind of "save as").. Also select "do nothing" for "when new displays are connected" ... (and turn on the "automatically enable profiles when new ... "

Whoops, I accidentally marked this solved. Thanks Kermit for the solution to problem #2. Does anyone have insight in HDMI sound problem? Perhaps a driver is missing or something?

Solved! I was dumb enough not to press the small arrow to the right in audio mixer to show up profiles.... Then choosed HDMI profile and everything works!
