Has anyone had any success with Chiclet keyboards on MX?
They don't work properly for me.

Generally they work fine for me. I don't like them though because they are usually low quality and don't last. I'm currently using a six year old Spaxor mechanical keyboard with my one desktop. Are there any particular brands of keyboards that are giving you problems?

Just the Chiclet ones.
Other keyboards work fine, so I believe the problem is just the Chiclet branded keyboards, not MX.

You are in the U.K., but here in North America "chiclet" refers to the shape of the keys and an overall type of keyboard and not a specific brand. FWIW, I did a thorough search and I could not find a keyboard with the Chiclet brand name.

Supplied in a box which says "Chiclet Style Keyboard"
I did not realize that it was not a brand name!

That keyboard lacks a number pad so the layout you should try before you give up would be generic 86 or generic 87 keyboard.
Settings --> Keyboard --> Layout tab

That's OK, number pad not wanted!

Do the little LED lights work when it's plugged in?

You should also run "sudo dmesg" in a terminal right after plugging it, as messages about it will appear at the end of dmesg. If not, you might have received a dud or have a bad USB port. Testing on another OS and machines would be helpful.

Thanks, Stevo,
But I have three of these keyboards: they all (miss)behave in the same way.
Maybe they would work on some system which I do not possess: so what?
For me they are useless.

Thanks again for trying to help.

David.
