LibreOffice version

This may be more suitable for chat forum? Not asking for any help, just couple questions.

I saw this subject about LO version in German speaking forum, which I can't read, but at the end commands were clear enough that I followed those steps and got old version purged and latest downloaded and installed. I see from yesterday's Dedoimedo review (in one of the screenshots) that install from latest MX Iso will produce the same old version that I had.

I'm just curious, will from now on always be best to, after fresh MX install, purge current LO version that comes with installable ISO and install newest one manually?

Another question, will this manually DL and installed version need to also be manually updated in the future? (with steps: purge, DL and install with: sudo dpkg -i *.deb ?)

Not complaining  just curious, why is this preferred, instead having some newer version in MXPI. I'm sure there is valid reason, just curious to learn about it.

Nope, if you want latest from debian backports -> MXPI->Office->LO backports.
Anything else, would make you on your own.

You can also hand it over to LO itself and purge the installed version, which is what I prefer.

Good to know, it is ok to do this, oh and great wiki guide, I should do some research next time before asking. I keep forgetting about wiki. Great guide, thank you!
