COMPLETELY systemd-free "MX?"

I just found this article about the newest version of systemd, boasting "42% less UNIX philosophy," and it has me wondering:
A couple of years ago I added Xfce to antiX (using the antix way, not Synaptic) and kind of had a "truly systemd-free MX-ish Linux." I did it back then because it didn't make sense that MX "has" systemd but "doesn't use it" except as a dependency. Now I'm thinking about it again after reading this article.
What commands would I use after installing antiX-core to "build" an Xfce system (without systemd or elogind)? Is there a script I might copy-and-paste (still pretty technophobic when it comes to the CLI) or can I possibly just use "full," install Xfce, and uninstall the other window managers?
OR, instead of a full desktop environment like Xfce, I wonder if I really need all FOUR window managers? Could I install just one?
Thanks
