I see it's in upstream Debian, so I'll take a look at it later tonight.

I built backports for the MX 21 and 23 test repos, so it should soon be available there.

mmm.. on my mx21 machines it will not install. ( works fine on MX23 )
The following packages have unmet dependencies:
backintime-qt : Depends: pkexec but it is not installable
Depends: polkitd but it is not installable

Probably needs an alternative depend for mx-pkexec or something. Needs more scrutiny when I get home.
