32 bit users: Which desktop do you use?
Question says it all. If you use 32 bit editions of MX, what environment are you using.
If you are 64 bit only, no need to answer this poll.

Re: 32 bit users: Which desktop do you use?
I have two 32bit machines still in service, one netbook and a battleship Dell Inspiron. I use MX with Enlightenment + zzzFM and it uses around 200Mb of RAM to run the Desktop on the average so a bit more than Fluxbox and a bit less than the original GTK2 LXDE in my experience.
I'm sure Enlightenment will never be a seriously considered option for an MX product but I will say it gives a full and efficient 'composited' experience out of the box without further customization for whatever that is worth..

Intel Atom Processor N450 512K Cache, 1.66 GHz is a 64-bit system and not a 32-bit system. So why was a 32-bit OS installed on a 64-bit system?karlchen wrote: Tue Jun 11, 2024 5:55 pm MX 21.3 32-bit Xfce v: 4.18.1Code: Select all

Re: 32 bit users: Which desktop do you use?
The machine has got only 1 GB of RAM. 32-bit software uses 25% to 30% less memory than 64-bit software does. This is the reason why.LinuxSpring1 wrote: Thu Aug 29, 2024 10:58 pm Intel Atom Processor N450 512K Cache, 1.66 GHz is a 64-bit system and not a 32-bit system. The machine is almost 14 years old. I will not spend a single dime on its hardware any longer. Apart from that maximum memory which the specific machine can handle is 2 GB.
(I was amazed myself that it ran on MX Linux 21.3 at all, because it clearly fails to fulfill the minimal system requirements.)
