Hi. I'm using MX 23 KDE. For installing software I mainly use Discover because it looks so beautiful.
But Discover doesn't show all available packages. So, I want to use Synaptic Package Manager.
I want to ask is it alright if I use Synaptic Package Manager along with Discover? Will they both work independently or one will suppress the other from functioning? Of course, I won't use them simultaneously. I just want to explore / use Synaptic a little while making sure that Discover remains functional for bulk of work (updating and installing software)
Much Thanks!
(Yes, I use MX Package Manager as well. But I'm interested in learning more about Synaptic and using it along with Discover)
Using Synaptic Along With Discover [Solved]
Re: Using Synaptic Along With Discover [Solved]
You can use Synaptic independently of Discover. When a package is upgraded using synaptic, it will no longer show as upgradeable in Discover, and vise versa. If you install packages contributed by KDE users via Discover, such as user contributed icon packs or backgrounds(not available in Synaptic), you may see them upgradable in Discover when an upgrade is available.
