sudo mx-tweak problem

#1 Post by damians »

hi, when I type "sudo mx-tweak" in the xfce terminal and enter mx trims to change the theme, I get this error message: unable to restart the panel.

Seams that D-Bus (Desktop bus) cannot find the xfce panel icons for mx trims.
Their full path is
/usr/share/icons/<style>/<size>/apps/org.xfce.panel.<app icon>.svg
On my system "mx trims" themes not even exist.

if your themes are already saved in usr/share/themes or icons in usr/share/icons, there is no need to run mx-tweak as root/sudo to change the theme/icon.

I don't think mx-tweak is meant to be run as root.

Are you looking for the tweak settings for icons in the "icons" pane and not the "themes" pane?

What happens if you open "Appearance" from the menu button (icons tab), and use XFCE's own program to set the icon theme?
