Find an USB at least 4GB. Download Mx Linux ISO file.

The download link as follow:

Code: Select all

https://mxlinux.org/download-links/
I recommend the MX Linux flagship: MX-23.2_x64 from the follow link :

Code: Select all

https://sourceforge.net/projects/mx-linux/files/Final/Xfce/MX-23.2_x64.iso/download
Burn ISO file to USB. To burn ISO file to USB follow the instructions on the Paragraph 4

4. How to make the USB

A full-featured bootable (Live) USB can be made from an ISO by using MX’s Live USB Maker tool. Users of other Linux distributions can download and run our Live USB Maker appimage right from their current distro to create a full-featured Live MX USB from any standard ISO.
Other graphical USB creators that write a Read-Only image of the ISO onto USB (e.g., openSUSE Imagewriter or Mint USB Image Writer) may also be used to create a Live USB, but it will lack the advanced live features available to MX. If you want to create a USB on a Windows base, we suggest you use Rufus, which supports our bootloader.
If the graphic USB creators fail, use one of the command line options below as Root. Let us assume your USB is identified as sde (change as needed for your system), then copy and paste the appropriate line for your kernel:
32 bit kernels: dd bs=4M if=MX-19_386.iso of=/dev/sde && sync
64 bit kernels: dd bs=4M if=MX-19_x64.iso of=/dev/sde && sync

Start your machine by bootable USB that you prepared (be sure to have USB first in the Boot Device Priority Order in your BIOS) .

Test MX Linux Live session in your machine. If you are satisfied .... install MX Linux in your machine.

Install any of them whichever you like most Xfce / KDE / Fluxbox . (AHS is also Xfce).

Nothing to worry about specs. As I always write: My other HP laptop is just 32 bits, "Single Core" (Pentium M), 2GB "DDR2" Ram (was originally 512MB designed for XP) .. everything's fine (with all previous and current versions, also with other distros previously).

Shortly: Just go on :)

Yes, MX will install fine with 2 cores. The A8-8650В you mention has 4 cores so I don't know why you ask about 2.
In fact my wife's computer, running MX-23 well, has an A10-5800k which is just slightly faster than your A8. Your A8 is more energy efficient though.

But with my configuration as I described above, which version is better to install?

The standard xfce version. An A8 build will have nothing new enough to need the AHS version and will feel more responsive than the KDE version.
For most people using the fluxbox version will feel less familiar so it will have more of a learning curve but it's very responsive and works well once you learn it.

Yes, I’m more worried about RAM. 16 GB of RAM is enough for installation MX linux?

Much more than enough.

MX runs quite well with half that and is still very usable with 4GB. IIRC, you can instal! It with 2GB though the user experience with 2GB is less than ideal to say the least.

I have 16GiB. Under load it hits about 3.5 GiB. As others have said 16GiB is more than adequate

Hope you do know it's best to verify the downloaded ISO checksum checkin for any tampering or corruption.

Omygosh, I wish I had 16 GB of RAM! But with my paltry little 8GB, standard MX-Linux runs better than when this machine was brand new and running WindowsXP! Far more than enough RAM to run this amazing distro!

that is, 16 GB of RAM and 2 nuclear processors will be enough for installation Mx linux?
