Any option to get Asunder v3.0 in the MXPI for MX23 (right now v3.0 is "only" available as Flatpak)?
Background: the Gnudb CDDB service is asking now for an email address, and that is only supported w Asunder > v3.0
Many thanks

It is in upstream Debian, so I'll five it a try.
At first glance, it doesn't seem to present problems for a backport.

Tim actually had finished backporting it before I had hacked my way into getting it to build on older MX releases, so those are his packages. Thanks for the test!

is Asunder 3.0 going to be available as an update (as gnudb have effectively blocked use of 2.9.7 under MX21 (better still MX19) - I'm afraid MX23 causes problems for me

but being in the test package implies that it or any updates it triggers may cause problems - maybe a better question is when will it move to be a standard update, at least to MX21, as it appears MX19 (which to be honest still seems the most pleasant choice for me as MX21 still throws up annoying inconsistencies with MX19 - small problems that IMO were unnecessary changes to how packages worked.)

Asunder though popular is not the best option. I suggest to start using freac.

It will be in our test repos until people try it enough and find it ok. Then it will be moved.

A quick follow up but first the background - the initial problem was not a problem with Asunder but a change by gnudb requiring registration of the IP of requesters for cddb lookups used by Asunder to provide track listings. Ssuch registration needed also to be linked to a valid email address. Versions of Asunder pre 3.0.1 could not include such email addresses in any request thus my older MX19 machine encountered a period in which all such requests were blocked.
I registered as requested, used MX23 on a spare machine, switched to test repro, down loaded Asunder 3.0.1 and tried using the gnudb's own suggestion as to the needed incantation under Asunder - it didn't work.
I thus contacted gnudb and also pointed out the somewhat unthought thru idea of registering IP address esp here in UK/IoM where domestic users hide behind a NAT router whose outward IP address is regularly changed by their ISP (fixed IP4 addresses generally cost significantly more if available)
I received a pleasant reply admitting there had been an error in gnudb's coding that was now fixed and that their Asunder code should now work - however my registration appeared also to unlock MX19's older version of Asunber as I guess my ISP hadn't yet switched my outward IP address and the required email address appears only be needed in cases where the requester uploads a new entry thus the old MX19 version would fetch data base entries.
I assume that in short term future it the MX19 will again fail as my Ip address is changed and reregistation will be required - whether it will be possible to run Asunder 3.0.1 on MX19 may have to be faced though I have enough spare machines to allocate one to MX23 once that includes the latest version.

Can you please put that text in a more readable format, this is not inviting to be read.
