Toolbar icons don't show in Evolution

#1 Post by MintHawk »

Hello, everyone.
Maybe because of the Gnome theme that Evolution uses, the toolbar icons are not clearly visible.
Can something be done about it?

I changed the theme through Appearance and it looks OK like this, but what if I don't want to change it?

It is possible that you need to rebuild the icon cache. Also possible that you may have to change some icons IN that icon set.
use this, but the folder should be on the icon set your having trouble with:

Code: Select all

gtk-update-icon-cache /usr/share/icons/hicolor/

Also, this may be of interest?

Evolution Icon Change
Temp: GTK_THEME=Adwaita evolution

permanent = https://www.reddit.com/r/gnome/comments ... ?rdt=61206

And as a test if the above doesnt work for you, you can find the icons that are problematic and COPY those icons from other sets. (or create your own - combining the entire set, but then replacing problem icons with ones that work -or rebuild them.)
*QSI = Quick System Info from menu (Copy for Forum)
*MXPI = MX Package Installer
*Please check the solved checkbox on the post that solved it.
*Linux -This is the way!

Thanks for the help.
I did what they suggest but it only inproved it a bit (they still looked whited out).
Well, if I want to fix this permanently I have to change the overall theme (not likely right now).
