Did you previously mark anything to be held?

Code: Select all

apt-mark showhold

Re: Packages kept back  [Solved]

Going to provide two answers here ...
First:
Typically when I have seen this it means that dependencies have changed and those apps / libraries are out of sync.

What I do when I see this:

1) make sure your repo lists are updated

Code: Select all

 sudo apt update

2) Go through the list you posted, one by one attempting to install them. Exp:

Code: Select all

sudo apt install pipewire-setup-mx

This will typically show you what dependencies are failing, and then you would attempt to load the dependency and see why IT might be failing. Work through this list and then see what happens.

3) Normally, DONT do a sudo apt upgrade until you have resolved the issues here!!

Second: And in your case here. These are all pipewire updates... and there was a bit of an issue with pipewire updates yesterday or day before. SO..
sudo apt update and then do a sudo apt upgrade and see if this resolves - I believe that it will.

*MXPI = MX Package Installer
*Please check the solved checkbox on the post that solved it.
*Linux -This is the way!

I think that's solved now, but aptitude can help out many times with "why" and "why-not" arguments, as in

"aptitude why-not <packagename>"
MXPI = MX Package Installer
QSI = Quick System Info from menu
The MX Test repository is mostly backports; not the same as Debian testing

Thanks for that!

I have a package held-back, and forgot about this command.

Thanks for the reminder!

And thanks for this, too!
