Have you tried MX Package Installer, it's seemingly in the Flatpak tab.

Hi,
Yes but I want to install directly with the help of wget. Once it was installed but now it isnt. I also use Calibre with wget and there is no problem. For flatpak I have to install a lots of things as dependancies. There is Appimage also available.

Thanks

Try running

Code: Select all

wget https://raw.githubusercontent.com/laurent22/joplin/dev/Joplin_install_and_update.sh
and then

Code: Select all

bash Joplin_install_and_update.sh
You'll likely get more information doing it step by step instead of using the one-liner.

Hi,
1. Wget (as you told line by line) gave me followings:

Connecting to raw.githubusercontent.com (raw.githubusercontent.com)|2405:200:1607:2820:41::36|:443... failed: Connection timed out.
Connecting to raw.githubusercontent.com (raw.githubusercontent.com)|49.44.79.236|:443... failed: Connection timed out.
Retrying.

Strange, I coped & pasted from my post here and the first part worked

Code: Select all

$ wget https://raw.githubusercontent.com/laurent22/joplin/dev/Joplin_install_and_update.sh
--2023-12-20 16:51:52--  https://raw.githubusercontent.com/laurent22/joplin/dev/Joplin_install_and_update.sh

But the second part didn't because the links in the file I downloaded aren't live anymore.

But you can download the Appimage of Joplin from here.

As you can see, the command from the website you were using tries to download the Appimage.

Code: Select all

$ bash Joplin_install_and_update.sh
_ _ _
| | ___ _ __ | (_)_ __
_ | |/ _ \| '_ \| | | '_ \
| |_| | (_) | |_) | | | | | |
\___/ \___/| .__/|_|_|_| |_|

Linux Installer and Updater
Downloading Joplin...

2023-12-20 22:42:02 ERROR 404: Not Found.
The rest of the script places the appimage in ~/.joplin/<version#>/ , marks it executable, creates the ~/.local/share/icons/512x512/apps/joplin.png/ folder and downloads its icon there

Code: Select all

wget -nv -O ~/.local/share/icons/hicolor/512x512/apps/joplin.png https://joplinapp.org/images/Icon512.png
then it creates a launcher. All things you can do yourself since their script isn't working.
