Am I correct in thinking that my MXLinux antique 32-bit notebook with BIOS is not currently vulnerable to LogoFail UEFI malware? The articles i have read state that it is 64-bit UEFI malware.

It was built before there was any such thing as UEFI. 2003 Dell D800 1.4 Ghz Pentium-M running 32-bit MX Linux. Boots from BIOS if I remember correctly.

so firm no. if there isn't a uefi, no need to worry about uefi hacks.

Thank you! I thought it might be so, but it is good to know I wasn't mistaken. I suppose the 64-bit types will be waiting for Debian to correct this? At least my stone-age notebook is not at risk.

one presumes that 32 bit UEFI is also affected. insyde makes one. and some older macs have 32 bit uefi.
probably requires update from system vendors. Not all implementations will be affected.

The article i read from Ars Technica stated that Mac OS hard coded the Boot Logo image (unlike Windows & Linux) so Apple wasn't affected. Apparently smartphones are also unaffected.
