Request MX-23: speedtest

I regularly add speedtest-cli to MX instances by adding e.g.

os=debian dist=bookworm

towards the top of their installer script and then launching the script manually under a

sudo su

root instance in terminal. I download the script via

curl -s https://packagecloud.io/install/repositories/ookla/speedtest-cli/script.deb.sh >> speedtest-script.deb.sh

and adapt it, instead of following their Ubuntu/Debian directions explicitly, because as is it doesn't recognize MX's identifying information as a supported distro.
I would find it helpful to have something already configured at hand in one of the official MX repos and suspect that if findable in the MX Package Installer others might find the tool to be of use as well.

Coincidentally I installed speedtest-cli for MX-23 using the MX Package Installer yesterday from the Enabled Repos tab.

It's working fine, unless I'm missing something?

… which though labeled `speedtest-cli` actually installs as and is invoked by `speedtest`. I'll see if I can edit my original post title to just say "speedtest" instead of "speedtes-cli".

OK...speedtest.net by Ookla appears to be what you are requesting, but is it open source?

The answer is no, it is proprietary (although containing open source pieces). I looked into it a few years ago
