Your QSI identifies it as a Cambridge Silicon Radio Bluetooth Dongle. You need to try it with another machine to confirm the it is still working. Then report back here.
HP 15; ryzen 3 5300U APU; 500 Gb SSD; 8GB ram
HP 17; ryzen 3 3200; 500 GB SSD; 12 GB ram
Idea Center 3; 12 gen i5; 256 GB ssd;

In Linux, newer isn't always better. The best solution is the one that works.

You said previously that it worked with Zorin OS and now that it also works with Win 10, Both of those are 64 bit operating systems, yet you are using the 32 bit version of MX 23 and it may be that the only available driver is also 64 bit. As a test, I think that you should download / write the 64 bit version of MX 23 to a USB drive and then boot into a live session and see if the dongle starts working. If it does start to work then you should reinstall using the 64 bit version of MX 23.

Just loudly thinking:

Cambridge Silicon Radio Bluetooth Dongle (HCI mode) type: USB driver: btusb v: 0.8
bus-ID: 1-2:4 chip-ID: 0a12:0001 class-ID: e001 Report: hciconfig ID: hci0 rfk-id: 4 state: up

It's not soft blocked in rfkill and the driver is loaded.

Also it's supported since a very long time: Kernel 2.6.x - 6.3

However it seems to be one of the problematic devices: Mostly failed.

Just: Is it the same when on battery and Plugged in ?

I checked that site too and there are 24 reports of it working with Debian 11 and 12 in the first ten pages which makes me think that there's an anomaly at work here. That's why I suggested he try with the 64 bit version of MX 23. If he has no luck with that test, his next step should be to try 64 bit MX 23 with SystemD enabled since all of the success reports on that site are with SystemD based distros.

Thanks for your help guys, the computer running MX js definitely 32 bit that's why i went for it, same as Zorin i think that was 15.1 32 bit your right the win 10 computer is 64 bit, its just a thought could it be that i left the dongle fitted to the computer when i deleted Zorin & installed MX ? the bluetooth side of things all works great ie the searching & pairing its like theres a disconnect with the sound from anything ie strawberry, radio, youtube etc. , i have deleted & installed MX again still the same, it makes no difference if on battery or mains.Once again thanks for your help MX is fantastic apart from this one problem.

Actually, it's not. From your QSI:

Code: Select all

Intel Atom N2600 bits: 64 type
HP 15; ryzen 3 5300U APU; 500 Gb SSD; 8GB ram
HP 17; ryzen 3 3200; 500 GB SSD; 12 GB ram

Then, that's another issue, at least we can say BT is working (connecting) :)

Hi sorry to be a pain, i have tried 64 bit MX 23 as above but cant get very far the memory & cpu runs at 95/100% & the screen locks up i cant even get to a position to test bluetooth ?
