I've been using mx-linux since version 15 and I am still on MX linux it today.
Just recently I migrated from Mx-21 to MX-23 (without full reinstall, following instruction from the wiki) and my system is stable as ever.
The only things I did, which was not mentioned in the wiki was:
- install gxkb and the startup-scripts that are included in mx23 (gxdb can be installed from the repo, the startup scripts I copied directly from the ISO)
- install the mx23-artwork from the repo
- install pipewire from the mx-test-repo
I don't know why these were not installed - might be an error on my side
Before MX I was on ubuntu and before that on windows XP
Every time I need to fix problems with windows computers, I realize how lucky I am having mx linux.
Thank you very much to the developers.

Is the one from stable repo not working OK?

I would like to echo the OP's praise regarding MX23.

I bought a HP Elitebook laptop on eBay which the seller installed Windows 11. I got a copy of both MX23 and AntiX 23. I was un-decided which to install and in the end I decided on MX23. I was particularly impressed with the installer and how easy it was to create a root and home partition. I was also happy to see the inclusion of AntiX YouTube script (ytfzf), a great utility for watching YouTube videos.

Thank you everyone at MX towers for what you do. It is much appreciated.

@phykris :

I don't go as far back as you (I think I started with MX-19), but 4 years now.

Yeah, a HUGE shout-out to the developers: :celebrate:

And, to all who contribute to this Forum (many of whom are the developers themselves), who have provided invaluable and rapid help, whenever I have needed it :exclamation:

Signed,

MX Fan-Boy

+6!

Wonderful experience these last 6 years or so, MX managed to better debian for me as a desktop distribution and totally deserves its undisputed years-long run as #1 on distrowatch.

The nature of fora is that people mostly post when they have an issue but sometimes a word of appreciation is in order !

Ditto here. I only recently upgraded an older laptop and a ryzen tower to M23. Everything went great, except for unrelated hardware problems on the tower. I was also very happy to still be able to find easystroke in an old repository, and still usable. Everything is very polished, very smooth. Much appreciated.
