instructions for how to switch from pulseaudio to pipewire on MX23

#1 Post by phykris »

I am using pulseaudio on MX23 (after following forum instructions)

Code: Select all

$ pactl info
Server String: /run/user/1000/pulse/native
Library Protocol Version: 35
Server Protocol Version: 35
Is Local: yes
Client Index: 11
Tile Size: 65472
User Name: kris
Host Name: mx
Server Name: pulseaudio
Server Version: 16.1
Default Sample Specification: s16le 2ch 44100Hz
Default Channel Map: front-left,front-right
Default Sink: alsa_output.pci-0000_00_1b.0.analog-stereo
Default Source: alsa_output.pci-0000_00_1b.0.analog-stereo.monitor
Cookie: d800:93f7
But now I would like to switch to pipewire.
Are there instructions available?

I followed these instructions, but ended up without sound.

I think pipewire was installed, but I don't know how to start it at boot.

install the pipewire-setup-mx package.

lenovo ThinkPad X1 Extreme Gen 4 - MX-23
FYI: mx "test" repo is not the same thing as debian testing repo.
