The Live system can not be started. I saw KDE was trying to start, but ended with a black screen. Kinda frozen. It's a new low end pocket sized laptop. Btw I can run and install MX 21.3 KDE though.
I tried to run MX 23 ahs xfce RC2 live and install it. The xfce RC2 worked. Although it has some other issues, I will report in xfce thread. I prefer KDE system, so hopefully the problem can be fixed.
I am not sure how to debug, so there is not much I can post for now.

Is there a possibility to disable asking for the password when you just start MX Package Installer ?
Most of package managers don't ask for password when just "browsing", only when you try to install something.
I'm talking about KDE version.
MX-23.4 / KDE Plasma 5.27
Kernel: 6.XX

Be patient !!
What seams easy for you now, for a newbie might be a monumental helping hand.
An efficient pack will move as fast as the slowest member.

The current "MX Package Installer" (MXPI) requires authentication to perform adminstrative tasks.
The reason is simple, it does quite a lot of package list updates during it's early operations and with further operations.
Splitting this out would require quite some redesign of the app itself.

Unable to install on newer HP laptop. (MX23B2 was installed - using 100% of the 500gb nvme, no LUKS or anything special.)

Downloaded KDE RC2
Created a liveUSB using Etcher, Booted, Clicked the Installer
Select Type of partition came up on USB, Clicked on Regular Install using entire dick and changed to nvme
Clicked Next, and Yes,
Process started, looked to get approx 9% in and then
Failed to Prepare required Partitions

Did an update, tried again, same results.
after attempts, old nvme main partition is still there, but boot partition is gone and so is the LiveUSB.

Edit: Created the liveUSB again, but with MX LIveUSB maker, booted this time nvme was in the selected target, chose entire disk and installed perfectly.

Going to try the entire process once more, exactly as it was the first time.

--
Edit 2: Reproducible. Created the LiveUSB using Etcher, booted, again the installer was pointed to the USB,changed it to nvme, said to use the entire disk, 9% everything failed with the message
Failed to Prepare required Partitions

This time, the usb was not affected, but the nvme boot is destroyed again. Tried it one more time, with out a reboot and again failed at 9%

Looks like LiveUSB written with Etcher and the install fails. (I pretty much exclusively use Etcher, so all Beta iso's worked, and MX17, 18, 19 and 21 all worked with it. )

LAST update on the install ... I created the MX23Rc2 iso with MX LiveUSB Maker and used the Image mode (dd) and it also failed at 9% (Also came up with default to the usb.)

SO to recap
Install after writing ISO with Full-Featured mode - writable works!
Install after writing ISO with Read-Only mode - fails!

minstall.log would be nice.
Also you may try to boot with toram, and remove/pullout the LiveUSB after boot.
