What is the procedure for installing MX KDE on a laptop that has Windows 11? Does dual boot still work on Windows 11?
Do I just install MX KDE as usual and it will dual boot automatically? Any configuration changes needed?

As stated, it's not possible to dual boot because Win 11 requires that Secure Boot be enabled in order to run and MX needs it to be disabled in order to boot.

In order to wipe the disk and install MX, you are going to have to first launch Win 11 and log into your Microsoft account to retrieve your BitLocker encryption key, then disable BitLocker and Quick Boot. Once these three things have been done in order, you can then reboot, enter the bios and disable Secure Boot. If disabling BitLocker did not work or the bios baulks at disabling Secure Boot, this is where you will need the decryption key that you acquired earlier. On new HP computers, when you disable Secure Boot, you will be asked if you intend to install another OS --> say Yes and you will be given an alphanumeric code to type in. Do so and you can proceed to install MX. On other OEMs' computers you may also have to locate and disable the Windows keys required by the Secure Boot utility.

It is apparently possible to dual boot Win 11 and MX, however you have to start with a hobbled version of Win 11 --> no BitLocker. no TPM, no Secure Boot and no updates.

Google and search before asking dumb questions brought me here. I am too struggling with booting live MX Linux 21 on my computer with W11.

I thought that only AHS versions come with unsigned Kernel.

Do I get it right right that out of the box, none of the MX versions (USB) will boot on computers with secure boot enabled?

I have 12th gen corei5. That's why I am also specifically interested in the AHS version.

PS: Checked google, opened the manual, browsed the forum....

That's paritally (+++EDIT+++) correct, the MX ISOs/USB' with Debians signed kernel would do secure-boot.
MX 21.3 Kde comes with unsigned AHS-kernel.

might want to take a look, I have not tested the feature, and there are also other articles on how to neuter windows so you can run other OS loads, but once agian, no practical applications as examples. Just a heads up!

I believe this comes from you. I was able to boot MX on my Framework laptop after playing with mokutil. However, this is machine specific. I am not able to have a "portable" MX that also runs on my corporate laptop. I also need to mention that I have only limited understanding of the secure boot.

For the framework laptop, first I thought I just add the EFI loader to the allow list. BIOS/UEFI of the laptop allows it. However, this still did not work.

I believe this is also not 100% correct answer. Both XFCE and KDE version of AHS MX come with unsigned kernels. I've been trying with XFCE.

The original MX21 KDE ISO had the default debian bullseye 5.10 kernel. This may unfortunately not support recent CPU's (or APU's) properly.
