2019 Acer Swift SF314-41 fails to boot live-usb [SOLVED]
Posted: Sun Jan 29, 2023 8:19 pm
I can not produce a QSI from this machine because it cycles through booting up to loading live-init, and on the rare occasion it gets to the desktop, it freezes withing 10 seconds.
AMD Ryzen 5 3500U 4 x 2.1 - 3.7 GHz, Zen+ with AMD Radeon RX Vega 8 (Ryzen 2000/3000) Graphics
BIOS is the latest (F10) for this machine.
Full specs here --> https://www.notebookcheck.net/Acer-Swif ... 585.0.html
I want to install MX21-3 onto it for my wife to use at school with her teaching.
So far, I've tried MX-21.3 Xfce and AHS, as well as personal snapshots with upgraded kernels and a boot parameter load=all, all to no avail
This machine only boots from gpt partitioned drives and I only use MXLUM to make a Live-USB. I've tried regular flash drives, high speed UAS flash drives and external USB HDD.
If anyone has experience with such a machine, I'd love to hear from you, and all other suggestions welcome. - - - - - - - - - -
